Effective from: 23 August 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Escienta Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at 26 Woods Road, Grove, Wantage, OX12 0RQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). Company number 11263048.
They govern your use of the InnerMe mobile application and the innerme.me website (together, "InnerMe").
By creating an account or using InnerMe, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use InnerMe.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information.
2. InnerMe is not healthcare
This is the most important section of these terms. Please read it carefully.
InnerMe is a self-reflection tool. It is not:
- a medical device
- a healthcare service, or a substitute for one
- therapy, counselling, or psychological treatment
- a source of medical, clinical, or diagnostic advice
- monitored by clinicians, or by any human being
Reflections are generated automatically by an artificial intelligence system. No therapist, doctor, counsellor or other qualified professional reads what you write or reviews what InnerMe says to you.
Nothing InnerMe produces should be treated as advice on which to make decisions about your health. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read in InnerMe.
If you are struggling with your mental health, please speak to a qualified professional — in the UK, start with your GP or NHS 111.
3. Emergencies
InnerMe cannot help you in a crisis, and no one is monitoring it.
If you are in immediate danger, or you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else:
- Call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number
- Samaritans: 116 123 — free, 24 hours a day, every day
- Text SHOUT to 85258 — free, 24/7 crisis text line
- NHS 111, option 2 for mental health
InnerMe includes an automated check that tries to spot language suggesting distress and show you these resources. It is not reliable and must not be depended upon. It may miss things, and it may react to things you did not mean. It is not a safety net, a monitoring service, or a substitute for contacting someone who can help.
4. Who can use InnerMe
You must be 18 or over to use InnerMe, and you must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. By using InnerMe you confirm that you are.
5. Your account
You need an account to use InnerMe. You agree to:
- give accurate information when you register
- keep your sign-in details secure and not share them
- tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account
You are responsible for activity that happens through your account. If you lose access to the email address you registered with, we may not be able to recover your account or its contents.
6. What you may not do
You agree not to:
- use InnerMe for anything unlawful, or to harm anyone
- attempt to access another user's data, or any part of our systems you are not authorised to reach
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code, models or prompts
- use automated means to access the service, or to circumvent usage limits
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit InnerMe or its output
- submit content that infringes someone else's rights
- deliberately attempt to make the AI produce harmful content
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
7. Your content
What you record remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your thoughts or reflections.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content solely in order to operate InnerMe for you — transcribing it, generating a reflection, producing audio, and showing it back to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider does not either. We do not publish it, sell it, or share it other than as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. AI-generated content
Reflections are produced by an automated system. This means:
- They may be wrong, unhelpful, or miss the point. AI systems make mistakes and can misunderstand what you meant.
- They are generated fresh each time and are not reviewed by anyone before you see them.
- Similar entries may produce different responses.
- We do not guarantee that any reflection will be accurate, appropriate, or beneficial.
You use reflections at your own discretion and judgement.
9. Free use and subscriptions
InnerMe offers a free tier with a daily limit on the number of thoughts you can record, and a paid subscription that removes that limit and unlocks additional features such as full Insights.
Current subscription prices are shown in the app before you buy. Prices may vary by country and may change; the price shown at the time of purchase is the price that applies.
9.1 Billing
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), not by us directly. Your payment details are handled by them; we never see or store your card information.
9.2 Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, unless you cancel beforehand.
9.3 Cancelling
You can cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
Deleting your InnerMe account does not cancel your subscription. Only the store can do that. Please cancel your subscription first, or you may continue to be charged.
9.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, and we generally cannot issue them ourselves. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us and we will help where we can.
9.5 Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. By starting to use a subscription immediately, you ask us to begin supplying it during that period and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once supply has begun. This does not affect your statutory rights where content is faulty or not as described.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep InnerMe available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend it for maintenance, and we may change, add or remove features.
If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.
We may discontinue InnerMe entirely. If we do, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export or delete your data.
11. Our intellectual property
InnerMe, including its software, design, branding and content (other than your own), belongs to Escienta Ltd or our licensors. These terms do not transfer any of those rights to you. You may use InnerMe only as permitted here.
12. Ending this agreement
You may stop using InnerMe at any time, and delete your account from Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently erases your thoughts, reflections and audio, and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Except where you have breached these terms, we will give you reasonable notice.
13. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for any decision you take, or do not take, based on a reflection or anything else InnerMe produces.
- We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for loss of profit, business, or opportunity.
- We are not liable for any failure of the crisis-language check to identify distress, which as explained in section 3 is not a safety net.
- Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100.
We supply InnerMe for personal use. If you use it for any business purpose, we are not liable to you for business losses.
14. Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other consumer protection law — including that digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. For more information, contact Citizens Advice.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use InnerMe after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you may stop using InnerMe and delete your account.
16. General
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- If we do not enforce a right immediately, we do not lose it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours, for example if our business is sold, provided your rights are not reduced.
- These terms are the entire agreement between us about InnerMe.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EEA, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law, and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
